PROJECT PLAN

Project Need

This year’s project will be a resource fair. The resource fair will have a focus on healthy relationships and leadership skills along with giving back to the community that has supported us in the process of change. The hope is that by collaborating and building knowledge, women at our school feel empowered to uplift one another and take on more of a role both at our school and in the great Los Angeles area. The healthy relationships portion of the retreat will be essential since we have seen a great increase in issues between women at our school. There will be focus on emotional awareness, building trust and learning to have healthy confrontation.

Process

​Throughout the year, we deliberately dedicated a significant amount of our time for the purpose of contributing back to our community in means of health and wellness. Every Thursday we hold meetings after school, where the whole team connects, concord, and organizes future fundraiser and activities to continue to bring light in times of darkness in our community of Inglewood, CA. Every idea is well thought and organized from brainstorming to planning our fundraisers and leisure activities. Every step we take is to ensure that our primary objective: giving back to our community is well done. This has been done by providing sanitary kits and crucial information regrading medical health opportunities and more about making a change through a voter registration drive that we held at campus. Everything that Mujeres Con Animo does is done with the idea of continuing to have good and positive outcomes that can influence change to women, not only in our campus but also in our community. Not only that, but with the assistance of Girls Build, we secured essentials such as financial aid and in addition have gained a numerous amount of support from our club advisor who has stuck with us through everything and has supported our ideas along the way. Despite the considerable time and effort invested in all the planning that is done, it has been a rewarding and enjoyable endeavor for all involved.
