We are Mujeres con Ánimo. We are an ensemble of ten passionate, exuberant, and visionary activists encouraged to transform our community into an empowered future with benefits and support toward undocumented and alienated individuals in our community. We aim to involve students to work on service projects that will increase support for undocumented children in the areas of health and wellness. Undocumented individuals need support for their mental state, which can be greatly affected along with the lack of education, self-empowerment, and resources available to children in detention camps.
This year we plan to organize a charity drive to donate books and clothing to children incarcerated in ICE detention camps, in order to improve their health and wellness and provide educational resources. In addition, we plan to engage our community in service projects, including meetings and informational events held at Ánimo Leadership Charter High School to spread awareness and knowledge to the community.
This is our community and our future depends on us.
